My Employee Story
I have been with EQT for just over six years and was hired immediately after receiving my undergraduate degree. During my schooling, I interned with EQT’s Production Operations team, which turned into a full-time role as an Associate Business Analyst in the Planning group.
Later, I joined the Strategy and Competitive Analysis team, which allowed me to gain greater insight into the macro- and competitive- environment beyond internal financial planning. This eventually led me to my current role within Investor Relations, which I have been in for around four years.
What Drew Me to EQT
Besides being interested in energy, specifically upstream natural gas, initially what drew me to EQT was its long legacy and strong foothold in Western Pennsylvania and surrounding regions. I was excited to work for a company that has a strong reputation, cares about the communities in which it operates, has good employee benefits, and provides the opportunity for professional growth.
What I Love About Working Here
What I love about working for EQT is our fast-paced environment and the respect that employees show toward one another. It seems like opportunities to learn, grow, and make an impact are endless at EQT. Our senior leadership team takes the time to recognize employees at all levels, which allows for an extremely inclusive (and motivated!) work environment.
I also love our digital work environment, which connects all of our people and processes. EQT has given me the opportunity to telecommute, which I have done for just under a year, with great success. I received approval from our Human Resources department and my direct supervisor and have since maintained work-life balance that works best for me. In my 80/20 remote work arrangement, I am still able to know everything that’s going on without needing to physically be in the office all the time.
Living Our Values
Heart, from my perspective, starts at the top with EQT’s leaders and helps us understand “why” we come to work every day and give our best effort. Heart is especially evident in our ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) Committee, where we discuss topics that positively influence future generations.
Advice to New Hires
Ask questions! There are a ton of great employees that are willing to take the time to walk you through a process, topic, or problem. No matter where you are in your career, mentors exist within EQT that want to help!
