EQT contributes thousands of dollars each year to sponsor fairs, festivals and other local community events in counties where we have regional offices or active field operations. These opportunities allow EQT to financially support regional gatherings; allow our neighbors to meet our employees, ask questions or offer comments on topics that are most important to them; and receive immediate feedback.
Across our three-state footprint, EQT contributes to local fire departments, food banks, senior centers and other community-based projects or charities. These donations are geographically limited to areas with active drilling, completion or production activity.
In mid-2019, EQT started a new program to support the efforts of local 4-H/FFA groups across our operating area. This allows us to support the hard work and dedication of regional youth involved in agricultural programs while simultaneously giving back to local charities.
In early 2019, EQT established a formal volunteer program named #EQTGivesBack, where each employee receives nine hours per year as paid volunteer time in an effort to give back to our communities. Our employees are encouraged to participate in local volunteer opportunities that allow them to provide goodwill in communities across our operating area. Volunteer opportunities can be cultivated by our individual employees or facilitated by the company. EQT’s second annual Volunteer Week was held in May 2019 and was a great success. There were eight total events, 89 employee participants and more than 350 hours of volunteer time contributed.
