My Role
On a daily basis, I visit the horizontal drilling rigs operated by EQT to ensure that the rigs are being operated in a safe manner. I am very comfortable walking around the rigs to proactively look for potential hazards (a process known as “hazard hunts”), as well as engaging with field workers. Any opportunities for improvement that I identify, I convey to the driller/rig manager and we work together to make the work environment safer. I also take time to coach the rig hands if I notice opportunities to share lessons for improving safety processes. We have meaningful conversations as I help them put safety issues into perspective. In collaboration with the field workers, and all the business partners in support of the rig, we work together to maintain a safe, positive and fun atmosphere.

What Drew Me to EQT
Prior to working at EQT, I spent eight years working for a contractor in the industry. During this time, I worked closely with the EQT Safety Department and had a solid working relationship with them. I knew I always wanted to work for an operator, so when I saw an opportunity to work for EQT, I jumped – and I’m glad that I did. The offer proposed to me to join EQT was competitive and encouraging, and truly made me excited to work for this organization.

What I Love About Working Here
At EQT, I have the freedom to plan my business and work unhindered. EQT utilizes me in a position where my strengths, such as coaching and being involved in the field work with the field employees, are exemplified daily, which is very fulfilling.

Living Our Values
I take a lot of pride in my work and I’m passionate about what I do. I am happy to provide support to the Drilling and Civil Construction team. This group has shown confidence in my abilities, which makes it easy to bolster the positive culture that is already present in the group. Together, we are all seeking to achieve one goal: efficiency with safety as the number one priority.
